This follows the tale of brother and sister who are abandoned in the forest during a camping trip with their parents. They meet the devil, Draegan, who offers them hot dogs in exchange for their souls. They refuse. However, the forest is a dangerous place, and Draegan and his wife, the Witch, offer them shelter in exchange for work. The two leave when it becomes obvious that they are in danger. Draegan tracks them down, and he takes them to court on the charges that, although they never signed a contract, their actions under his care were enough to guarantee him their souls. There, they sit before a panel of divine judges--Deborah, Samson and Gideon--who do not know much about the law and could care less about fairness or justice. Their ignorant decision in favor of Good enrages Draegan further and he charges the bench in revenge. The archangel, Michael, who acts as the bailiff, fights him again and throws him out of court. They are admitted into heaven.
This is a modern tale that uses established archetypes, like Hansel and Gretal, Satan, the witch, Sleeping Beauty, the Pied Piper and divine judges, in order to explore the meaning our society gives to the meaningless. It is a tale of rhyme and nonsense.
