Peter Hargreaves is a composer and multi-instrumentalist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.
As a composer, Peter has a B.A. in Music Composition from UCLA where he studied with Paul Chihara, Mark Carlson and Roger Bourland. He has written pieces for orchestra, chorus, jazz big band and chamber ensembles. He studied jazz composition with Jim Grantham and recorded a CD of original material, entitled “Rising”. He contributed music for the film “Processing Days,” screened at the 2009 UCLA Festival of New Creative Work.
A graduate of the award winning Berkeley High Jazz program and the UCLA Contemporary Jazz Large Ensemble, he has performed at international jazz festivals including Monterey, Montreux and Sapporo. Peter has also played professionally in the Bay Area and Los Angeles area at top venues including Yoshi’s and Catalina’s.
