I've been playing in bands for around ten years, toured the major cities of Australia, and some scary points in between.
I've started to take professional composition seriously over the last two years, and I've just completed six months of Music Studies at Ultimo TAFE in Sydney city.
There's little I enjoy more than creating music for film, whether it's a thirty second spot or an epic winding title piece. Most any style is in my bag... except maybe Japanese drone flute with Celtic rhythms and Gregorian chant, but I'll try anything.
I've put together a sample reel, (soon to be uploaded to the video section of VM) and have industry experience through working on minor jobs for local advertising agencies and independent film.
This site (Versus Media) provides me with a way to showcase my material, build relationships and solid contacts, so I can eventually make my way down the long hard road to scoring for film.
At present I use:
Logic Pro 8
Joe Meek 3Q pre-amp
Lexicon LXP1
Alesis Micron
AKAI AX-73
AKAI MPC-2000
Propellerhead Reason 3.0
Fender Jaguar (baritone)
Fender Stratocaster
ONYX Hollowbody
Yamaha MT8X 8 Track
Pearl Export drum kit
Various microphones
With this equipment and live studio access, I can produce a wide range of varied sounds and musical pieces.
You can check the song snippets I've uploaded to my Versus Media Profile Page, that are more tailored for film/advertising, or click the "web page" link for a preview of my published work with my band 1-2-seppuku.
Finally, you can head here: (http://www.myspace.com/machodistorto)
for my personal page full of un-mixed, not-for-profit experimental pop, sung a little off key... but it's fun for me.
(Headphones or a hot HI-FI are best for optimum listening pleasure. Laptop speakers generally stink, no matter how good the mix)

I'm not limited by context.
I can adapt to anything visual.
I work best when set to task.
