Starting my music training early at age 15, I was ushered into guitar lessons on Saturday at Mattai's Studio on Chicago's south side. There I learned the basics, then moving on to more advanced teachers, ending up at Lyon Healy's downtown studios where I continued my reading and playing skills. Eventually I took my music career more seriously and enrolled into Columbia College's music department under the guidance and teaching of Bill Russo, from Stan Kenton fame as arranger and trombonist.
There I learned to play piano and began writing songs as singer-songwriter-lead guitarist/pianist, performing in several bands but one standing out at the head of the class: Bran' Spankin' with 4 other local musicians in the year 1974. But my influences especially music school brought out other talents as arranger, vocalist, band leader, music producer, record company owner (Grandville Records circa 1980), distributor and finally solo artist. I have been pursuing my career as time permits, enabling me to finally compile songs from the past and some more current to create now in time this first podcast. Who knew it would come to this, but it has and I'm glad to be able to share with you some of my ideas and sounds.

A collection of songs that have been written through the years by myself as guitarist/singer/songwriter/pianist/lyricist/producer. I learned to play piano in the 60’s, switched to guitar lessons shortly thereafter, but when I began my college music education in 1976, I began writing on piano also. I would just bang out chords and pick out melodies adding in the lyrics as I went until I struck a note that worked. Then I refined it, added chorus and I wrote down the melody on a lead sheet with lyrics and began to copyright the songs. At about the same time, I was also performing in a band called ‘Bran’ Spankin’ in and around the Chicago area. I began incorporating some of the songs into the bands repertoire that we eventually recorded. So over the years I collected a group of songs that I was comfortable with and named them ‘Late Booming Baby Boomer and they will be released together in the near future after being re-recorded with a new band.
