Film Music Opportunities
Keyboardist and composer Henrik Hytteballe and songwriter Sokomo teamed have teamed up with five musicians to create the concept album, Mondo, which tells the tale of Mañana, a hidden continent, and Prince Mondo. Through the album, the musicians explore world conflicts and life decisions. The story begins as the country is on the verge of a revolution as “The Shackadon” takes over the Supreme Council of Mañana, as a terrified Prince Mondo goes into hiding. When the Prince decides to face his destiny, he comes out of hiding and overthrows the Shackadon forces.

When speaking about the concept of the album, Sokomo explains, “We wanted to show how we all are connected. Nobody is independent. We are all part of a unity.” Hytteballe adds, “We all have to choose in life. The choices we make have consequences. Mondo is also about some of these choices we have to face in our lives. When we choose we exclude something, but new doors may open up.”

The music is heavily influenced by popular British rock bands and artists such as Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Editors and Block Party, as well as American artists such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. Mondo producer Freddy Albrektsen, describes the albums as “a blend of different rock styles. It is a classic rock CD that could have been made ten years ago and will last another ten years.” A Danish newspaper reviewed the album giving it a 5 star rating saying the album is “definitely a fabulously sounding album, which you can only go into raptures about.”
The first album from haiku is an ambient album with music inspired by nature and various lights. Most of these 15 songs are instrumental.
