Biography
The Royal Gents are a Los Angeles, CA based band formed in July, 2006. By 2007 they were awarded "Best Rock Artists" at the Los Angeles Music Awards. They are comprised of Chezzare (Chezz) Monroe Lead vocals/guitar, Brian Irving drums, Matt Rule bass, and Jason Teague lead guitar. The Gents are four stylish guys who are all blessed with musical talent and skills. Their influences are T-Rex, Cheap Trick, Beatles, Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, Kiss, Ramones, Sex Pistols, the Raspberries, Grass Roots, Blondie, the Knack, Duran Duran, the Clash, David Bowie, and Guns & Roses.
The Royal Gents' sound is a combination of Power Pop, Glam, Punk, Metal and Disco. Their songs are catchy, melodic, and danceable with big drums and loud guitars done with attitude and pinache. Yes, their music is influenced by the great sounds of the past, but they have infused it with a modern feel and regenerated a new rock'n roll for the future. The Royal Gents have been playing shows all over Los Angeles to wild crowds; great reviews; and receiving awards. They are getting ready to start playing shows accross the southwest.
