The music of Kristina Supergenius encompasses both the analog elements of traditional instruments (guitar, bass and drums) and the digital abstractions of obscure samples and processed sounds (sampler, laptop, FX). The tracks on these albums range from experimental Trip Hop/Dark Ambient with spacey textures and droney tones layered throughout to uptempo Electronic/2-Step with world music samples thrown in.
Kristina Supergenius is the nom de sampler of one electronic experimentalist from NYC. Her music has been played in venues such as SubTonic, Knitting Factory, Rare/Baktun, Supreme Trading, Lunatarium, Third Ward, Decompression, BurningMan and various undergound venues in Williamsburg and DUMBO. Composing music and deconstructing samples for longer than she'd care to admit, the music is a blend of Electronic beats and Space Rock drones with occasional Gamelan scales and ethnographic field recordings thrown in for good measure.
