The electronic scores have a lot of edge to them. At times they are very ambient and then build up with melody and different kinds of sounds.
The orchestral scores have lots of melody and really give out the emotion of a scene. At times they can bring out what the characters are thinking without there being any dialogue (think Alfred Hitchcock's 'Vertigo' in the beginning when Scottie follows Madeline, the music sets the mood). Other times it supports a scene and stays in the background.

A chase scene.
A guy is running you hear staccato violins and a lot of percussion. Big brass pops in and out giving the scene lots of edge. As the guy reaches the end of a hill we hear lots of tension and horns rising, as he falls down the hill the music steps back to give it time for the guy to fall. As he falls the music resumes ending the scene on a drama.
