At times gentle and reflective, with the intimacy of Jon Brion's work on Magnolia or Punch Drunk Love and at times, swaggering and urban like a Timbaland jam.
Plaintive, minimal piano arrangements, or large, sweeping orchestral pieces -- even contemporary pop and rock sounds -- are all expertly done. No cheesy basement Kenny G. stuff here -- this is well-crafted, hip and timeless scoring.
