Film Music Opportunities
Dominic G. Joutsen is a composer and symphonist, working since 2003 in almost any genre and style. Mostly self-taught as a musician, Dominic studied essential composition in the renowned Gnessins State Musical College in Moscow. Practicing in writing orchestral music, he was learning musical theory, orchestration and conducting on his own. Also he developed an interest in ethnic, medieval and non-european music, still dealing closely with the traditional classical stock of scores.

Born in Moscow, Russia, to Swedish-Russian parents Dominic had no interest in music until his very late teens, when he encountered music of John Williams and Philip Glass that finally inspired him to compose himself.

A graduate from the State University for Humanities (a division of the Russian Academy of Sciences) with an M.A. degree in history, Dom is also carrying out the research on Russian emigrant musicians in 1920-s-40-s United States.

In the end of 2005 Dominic was invited by Russia's leading game-industry composer and producer Edward ‘UniComposer’ Mekhraliev to work at his Universum Soni production center and has since completed several scores to much anticipated video games, including "Battle for Motherland: 2025" and "Nick Perumov's Diamond Sword, Wooden Sword". Also he has contributed original music to Nigerian feature film “Freedom at Last” and international unreleased art-house movie “Gray World: The Guest”.

Dominic’s concert music was first performed in 2007 by East-Flanders Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Bruno De Schaepdrijver.

In his spare time Dominic writes poetry in English and enjoys making annoying noises with keyboards, recorder, clarinet, duduk, bansuri, shakuhachi, kena, pifano, tinwhistle, mandolin, komus and dan moi.

I think my music could perfectly fit any wordless dramatic scenes, panoramic landscape camerawork and some horror suspence.
