Composer and bassist of many various styles, specializing highly in the entire spectrum of jazz (most traditional to most modern), folk/classical sounds, and film specific, programatic music. Depending on the film and subject matter, instrumentation can be different. Basically- I have ALOT of music already written (various, fully arranged songs as well as various themes just waiting to be developed with a good story). I enjoy using small groups for film or even 1 single instrument a times in exactly the right places. This can create great drama. A FEW examples of instrumentation for a film soundtrack: double bass, violin, trumpet, saxophone, and drums; piano; marimba, guitar, bass, percussion; harmonium, trumpet, tuba; acoustic effects. The list is really endless.
The groups, or specific instrumentation, I write or can write for are typically smaller ensembles (3-10 pieces which can vary within one film). I am a working bassist and have many GREAT musicians on various instruments at my disposal.
