I try to be a bit diversified between pop, easy listening and jazz/alternative. For example my song, Good Friends, can be played in a pop style (romance) as well as a children's style for something like Sesame Street when played in a different tempo.

Mid-Life Crisis Blues would do fine in a comedy as that was the intention when written.
