Gulftone Records is an eclectic artist-owned, independent label with two new releases:
"Back Bay Blues"--veteran Nashville songwriter and two-time Handy Award nominee Bucky Lindsey’s debut recording in a career that has spanned forty years. Produced by Dan Penn, the album features songs drenched in Southern roots textures, as well as Lindseys’ soulful and commanding classic R&B vocals. Lindsey has had film and television placements for his compositions in the past, most recently, the title track on Solomon Burke’s newest "Don’t Give Up on Me" offering.
"Plain Jane in a Mustang"--Also produced by Dan Penn, is Lisa Best’s first full-length album release. While Best’s vocal stylings are deeply based in the blues/rock tradition, the selections on this album are decidedly eclectic, and run the gamut from Blues to R&B, Country and Pop.
Gulftone will have two other releases forthcoming from other artists in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
Gulftone Records is also the home of Hoy Lindsey Music, with a number of underlying compositions on various well-known Blues, Country, and R&B artists.
