Hylofi came together in the rich musical environment of Brooklyn, New York, which is a big reason the band produces such diverse music. It has been coined "industrial samba funk" amongst its core of fans. The band was originally playing intensely hard and funky instrumental music exclusively at loft parties that turned into cathartic, beautiful moments for the group. Enough so that composer/bandleader Timothy J. Allen decided to record the tracks at Joshua Sitron's "Playground" studios in Bushwick. These 3 tracks from the upcoming full-length Hylofi debut studio album should give you an idea of the vibe of this powerhouse band.
