Excluding that year of piano lessons every parent has forced their child to take, S. Andrew Paul’s love for music began in the sixth grade when he learned how to play the clarinet. Two years later, he picked up the flute and has been playing both ever since. Paul attended Plano Senior High School, participating in many musical activities, including marching band and winterguard. It was in Dr. Terry Eder’s AP Music Theory class at PSHS that sparked Paul’s love for composition. He scored a 5 out of 5 on the AP Music Theory test and used it to get ahead in his college studies. After graduating from PSHS in 2008, Paul began his college studies at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. After studying with Dr. BJ Brooks, he graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Music Composition after only three years of study. Paul hopes to one day use his degree to write music for the big screen.
