Mistakes Were Made is a groove metal band fronted by an intelligent hip-hop emcee. Different, yes. But Mistakes Were Made has proved to be a favorite in all circles opening for such popular and diverse acts like iwrestledabearonce and Lil Wyte.
Mistakes Were Made is a melting pot of musical talent and style. Rashaun brings his gospel background into the mix, and provides smooth in-the-pocket beats to Jen's funk influenced bass lines. Matt lends his knowledge of the fretboard to give the band it's edge. Parker tops off the group by combining intelligent syncopation with brutally honest lyrics about life, the man, and all the mistakes made in between.
Jen met Parker in 2009. She had just moved to Nashville upon graduating from Berklee, and was curious about Parker's craigslist ad as a self appointed "acoustic hate rapper." The pair found they had a similar vision for their music, and spent the next year searching for musicians. They finally solidified the line-up in late 2010, and are now preparing to release their first self titled LP.
