My name is Michael Stibor. I fell in love with playing the guitar at the age of twelve and have now been writing music for twenty years. I graduated college with a degree in jazz guitar but my influences range from film score music to electronic music to traditional folk music and everything in between.
Living in Montreal has given me opportunities to work with filmmakers from all over the world (USA, Canada, Europe) and in practically every capacity (from flash animation to feature length films).
I'm always looking to work with creative filmmakers who are less interested in churning out rote film music, and more interested in creating fun and interesting scores that serve and enhance the story and film. I consider versatility, a professional demeanor, a willingness to take risks, and a "story first" attitude important traits for any composer. I work well under pressure and love the collaborative effort involved in making films and film scores.
