Film composer Michael Patterson is a truly one of todays unique and versatile composers. With 2 Sundance premiers, one with Academy Award Nominees Kirby Dick and Eddie Schmidt on THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED
and I just returned from Park City after the premiers of the film HALF-LIFE. His poinent and masterful orchestral score to the CBSs special9|11, the hybrid Jazz - Electronica score to the award winning film "Freeze Out," the sci-fi score to the parody "The Helix: Loaded," Regae themes for the outrageous comedy
"Stone & Ed," for the multi-festival winning suspence drama "Something For Nothing."
Pattersons broad musical palette stems from the both European and contemporary American traditions. Pattersons talents began as a rock guitar player. He went on to study electronic music, Jazz and 20th century composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. After graduating and beginning his career composing for Television in New York, Michael found himself in high demand contributing his talents to numerous programs for PBS, HBO and all major networks as well as countless cable shows.
Michael's recent works have taken him to the city of Prague, recording scores with the Czech Philharmonic. Hiring the Bohemian orchestra, Michael has found an affordable way to realize high quality scores for projects that would have otherwise had to compromise there artistic vision.
