It all began at the young age of 28 in late October when I experience the most amazing thing of my short life……the birth of my son. In a single breath I went from an ASE Certified Auto Mechanic to the greatest job I would ever have….Assistant Childcare Teacher for the 2’s and 3’s at my son’s daycare.
I fell in love with my new career and quickly began writing stories and music to entertain the students in my class.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with a progressive retinal disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa.
As it turns out I had been losing my eyesight since middle school and now was no longer able to drive. My visual field is only 10 degrees and I am completely blind in low light and at night. Even though I would never wish this upon anyone, what I have gained from this experience is far greater than the sight I have lost.
I am now the father of three and married to the woman who makes everything in my life better. As a singer/songwriter and the Director of Childcare Services for the LISD school district, I have the blessed opportunity to support and entertain people in the district and around our community.
One day soon, through books and music, I hope to create smiles for people around the world.
