GreyMarket is a two-piece alternative rock band hailing from Kansas City. Influenced early on by the likes of Radiohead, Muse and Led Zeppelin, drummer Michael Gargiulo and guitarist/vocalist Cave McCoy set about creating their own brand of epic rock music. The richly textured music incorporates laptop-powered electronics, adding sweeping strings, buzzing synths, and pounding sine-wave bass to their already impressive arsenal.
While GreyMarket’s recordings hook the listener at first listen, the band’s greatest asset is its compelling live show, fueled by commanding stage presence and technical innovation. The duo delivers an arena-worthy light and sound experience in any size venue.
In its three-year existence, GreyMarket has toured the country extensively, building followings in cities all along the East Coast, throughout the Midwest, and as far west as Texas. They have played numerous festivals, including MidPoint, Atlantis, M.E.A.N.Y. Fest, PLAY:stl, RedGorilla and Texas Rockfest. The band has shared a stage with such bands as The Hold Steady, Peter Murphy, Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Murder by Death, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Tiger City and French Horn Rebellion.
All along, GreyMarket has received nothing but favorable press. Tampa Bay Times described their music as “combining exultant riffs and spaced-out effects with big beats and yowls” and having “the bold flavors of Muse or Radiohead, but with a swagger all its own”; Movement proclaimed their sound to be “nothing less than intoxicating and addictive.”
