Anwar is a Pianist, Composer, and Vocalist, has performed recently as Papageno in The Magic Flute in 2011 with Nyack College Opera.
He has also performed the roles of Gianni Schicchi in Gianni Schicchi; 2010, Marquese in La Traviata; 2009 , Schaunard in La Boheme; 2008 and Dancarrio in Carmen; 2007. He has studied jazz piano with Dr. Garry Dial, classical piano with Dr. Tammy Lum and voice with Joel Jameson. As well as Nyack College, he has studied at Westminister Choir College and Berklee School of Music. His band, Blue Strings and Ivory, frequently performs at venues around the tristate area. Anwar has composed numerous Jazz charts and has produced his first CD with BlueStrings 2007. He just recently released his first Christmas album titled "It's Christmas" out on iTunes. He also just finished his first major choral composition that was premiered by the Tappan Zee High School Choir in the Spring of 2010. He is currently composing music to a new age comedic opera titled "The Geek Opera", libretto written by Nicole Aiossa. Anwar has been teaching music privately for 9 years. His studio continues to grow, with currently over 50 students. Anwar plans to explore more compositional projects in the future.
