BROADKAST AND DJ PIXXEL ELEVATE ELECTRONIC ON “NEW METROPOLIS”
By Stacey Evans

“A solid US debut, BROADKAST + DJ PIXELL have given North Texas something unique; an electronic album with soul.” HUMAN NATION.TV

North Texas based recording artists BROADKAST AND DJ PIXXEL have just digitally released their first US album “NEW METROPOLIS” on HYPERSONIC RECORDS. And they know their audience well. “NEW METROPOLIS” draws from a variety of established electronic styles including DNB, Ambient, and Classic Break Beat; yet the album is produced with a fresh perspective that deconstructs traditional club music and carries the listener with it on an intense auditory experience.

Close your eyes and picture a silent film; perhaps a sea of people packing up and making there way to the desert for a night of furiously dancing until dawn; a night of bonding, stimulation, and mental transportation. The soundtrack for this film could be no other that BROADKAST AND DJ PIXXEL’S, “NEW METROPOLIS.”

NEW METROPOLIS is a maze of subtle sounds, eerie chord progressions and layered vocals that promise to transport the listener somewhere else for a little while. Plain and simple, this music makes you feel electricity run through your body, makes your heart beat harder, and captures your mind inside a web of dreams until you hit the stop button. Opening tracks “Dream Time” and “Boomerang” take you away right from the start. From the first beats to the last you want to lie on your back and stare up at the stars; reflecting on whether or not there is other life out there. And let’s face it. This music is designed for a rave out under those same stars and it does what it’s supposed to do. “Still Movin” says it’s time to drop something fun and “Sexy” says it’s time to kiss someone at the rave after you do. “Water Down” says relax because you’re going to be up until sunrise through the rest of the journey that is this album, “NEW METROPOLIS.”

The team of BROADKAST AND DJ PIXXEL is on its way. In addition to its highly danceable sound,” NEW METROPOLIS” features artwork by DuneSea Productions, the design team behind the award winning Documentary film SOUR (www.sourcrew.com). Track 15 “What Is” was recently licensed by DuneSea for placement in their upcoming documentary SMILE. The visual direction for “NEW METROPOLIS” was to pay tribute to the cult classic film Metropolis, directed by Fritz Lang; creating a visual metaphor where an iconic silent film interacts with this unique electronic record with no lyrics. This combination leaves a vast amount of room for the audience to experience their own unique journey each time they listen to the record.

New Metropolis is now available on i-Tunes, and all other online media sources.

HAPPYRON MUSIC PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES FIRST LICENSING DEAL

Filed under: General — versusmedia @ 11:33 am

I just received this e-mail in regards to someone’s first ever licensing deal thanks to us!

“I just wanted to thank you guys for getting me my first deal ever through here.  I just signed my very first music licensing deal, this means someone has paid me money to us one of my songs in a production, in this case an online video about a sports photography shoot.  A small production to be sure but a nice start.   The video is halfway down on the page and my song is at about 53 seconds into the video. Thanks to Lenny Rubenovitch for using my song in his video Deep Winter Photo Challenge. ”
