After being asked time after time by members, we’re going to start reviewing the music samples on our site.
Our goal at VersusMedia is to offer exposure opportunities for the growing film musician / composer. Part of this, is making sure that the musicians are presenting the best music they can offer on our site.

To be considered, musicians must have an upgraded Gold membership in order to upload song samples to our website.

Musicians reviewed will have the option to make their review appear on their profile. New reviews can be requested every 6 months.

Reviews will begin within the next two weeks. If you would like for us to review your music, please upload song samples to your account and send us an email request.

We want to hear about your experiences. How successful was your listing with us? Did you find the music you needed? What can we do to make the process easier or better?

UPDATE: I’m also looking for stills, video, etc of films who have used our site before. I’d like to make a films page of these.  So if you have anything like this, please contact me.

This past Friday I had the pleasure of meeting up with Madalyn Sklar of Gogirlsmusic.com for lunch . Though she and I have worked together on a number of projects in the past 4-5 years, this was the first time we really had a chance to get together and have a one on one.

All I can say is that it was a marvel being able to sit and discuss so many topics with a great like-minded and extremely cool lady like Madalyn.  She’s accomplished so much for women in music, and I highly recommend that everyone check out what she has to offer.  Which.. is a whole whole lot.

If you’re looking for someone to lives, breathes, and truly has the pulse of what’s going on, I recommend you check out her business.  She’s truly inspirational.

I’m writing an E-book about film music.  I’m curious to know any questions in regards to film music (marketing, it’s future, etc) you might like to see answered in it.

After I posted about a potential Los Angeles meetup, I had a number of comments about wanting other cities.

I’m considering having a meetup in the L.A. area for filmmakers and musicians to get together somewhere to network and discuss how independents can work together.  Possibly a coffee shop…
